Good morning to everyone who is heading for cocktails with friends this evening. As you know.. I’m an early riser and an early to bed goer. So… I’ve had to plan ahead for the upcoming socialization. Last night.. I was actually in the bed BEFORE my roommates returned from hitting balls around a field. I’d like to tell you they were shocked… but they know me. If my chores are done, the house is quiet.. well….the bed is as good a place as any to read… so in I went. As a result… I’m well rested and ready to toast a few white claws with the gang. I will be able to share more later… but my drinking pals and I are actually planning an event that we hope will be of interest to many of you living in Shelby County. Knowledge is power and we are going to give you the opportunity to gain some knowledge about politicians in our county. If the Covid has taught us anything.. it’s that local politicians are WAY more important than most of us ever realized.
Yesterday I took a break from writing but not a break from reading. The things that I read could be summed up in 2 words… stupidity and hypocrisy. Most of the loud mouths in the world I’ve found… fall into one of those categories. That’s the title I wanted to use for this blog, but I feared it was a bit judgemental of me to throw it out there in the 1st sentence so I thought I’d wait until the 2nd paragraph. It seems to flow much easier here and if you’ve read this far… you may be intrigued enough to see what I read about that makes me think of those words. So.. here we go:
The hypocrisy of Nike is astounding! They are going to take the moral stance that the Redskins MUST change their name or no more shirts or fan gear will be sold by them. The name Redskins is offensive to the Native Americans living here and they will use their HUGE market share & finances to FORCE an NFL team to comply or suffer massively. Here’s the thing.. NIKE itself is an offensive company to anyone that believes slave labor is a horrible thing. They make most of their items overseas via this hugely immoral use of a labor force that has no choice but to work under those conditions or starve. So… they may want to rethink HOW and by WHOM their products are made OR sit down and shut up on this one.
Next up, we have Dan Rather, the man that thinks his opinions and words should be taken seriously. I haven’t decided if he falls in the hypocrisy or the stupidity category… maybe a bit of both:
He’s lecturing us on how bad LIES are.. how important it is for reporters to call out anyone telling lies and inform the public immediately. Ok… Dan, you are a known liar. Your career was completely upended by lying. You are an expert at telling them but I’m not so sure you should be the moral compass for the rest of us on this particular subject. You stupidly think that we the people have forgotten about your history in this department… we haven’t.
YES…. this is real. YES.. the NY Times ran this headline 64 years ago. Unfortunately for them… today’s rules have no statute of limitations on racist behavior being forgiven. Just ask Christopher Columbus’s statue or Thomas Jefferson’s memorial, or Teddy Roosevelt’s monument. The BLM brigade made the rules so they must be followed, lest you are supporting racism. So… The NY Times needs to shut down immediately. They should issue numerous apologies as their assets, furniture and supplies are put on the auction block. They can keep shouting their contrition as the bulldozers rumble up to the building and begin the demolition. It must be done…. even they have proclaimed amongst their own pages that racism and anyone who EVER committed a racist act MUST be eradicated. If they do not…. I’m gonna label them with the hypocrisy tag.
Stupid or Illegal ?? You decide. Washington State released their plan for reopening schools in August. They will be using a phase in plan. Parents can see what phase their children are in by reviewing the PDF file. I pulled out one page that seems to be a bit problematic for anyone that believes the education system is not allowed to discriminate based on sex, religion or RACE. In Washington State… they’ve decided that prioritizing based on race is an A-OK thing to do and even put it in writing for the world to see.
The Mainstream Media….It’s a bit odd that they all use the same words …. kinda smells a bit coordinated. Their stories all seem to be released at about the same times. The hypocrisy of an industry that dedicates so much time to touting their honesty while being so dishonest is sickening. I mean maybe I’m just suspicious of these pathological liars but… see for yourself.
Notice the Washington Post and Bloomberg in particular. Exact same headline AND 1st sentence. Are we to supposed to believe that’s just a coincidence?? These stories are planted…. daily….and people believe and rely on them.
And…. lastly… it’s been 43 days since George Floyd died. Not a moment of body cam video or dash cam video yet. Very Odd!
