Good morning to everyone that had a wonderful weekend celebrating the most important birthday in our country. No… not the one on the 4th. I’m talking about the MORE important one on the 5th… the day we celebrated my roommate’s 53rd trip around the sun. It was filled with much fanfare… a round of golf and dinner (which HE cooked on the grill) and a slice of fat free dessert. The days of blowouts on Beale Street and cocktails galore have long passed us by. We’ve celebrated 33 of his birthdays together… which to me is a bit mind blowing as I can’t seem to wrap my head around the fact that I’m old enough to celebrate 33 birthdays! I’d like to tell you we began when I was 2 but, my roomies would call me “Jake Tapper” or “Maddow” if I spread that falsehood. In this house…. if you exaggerate the truth…. even a bit… you will be forced to wear that title around. Can you imagine being a major network news host and your name is used to describe someone who is telling a lie? Probably not the career “moniker” they were going for but definitely one they deserve.
I am dumbfounded that the idea of celebrating Independence Day in our country has turned into a shameful thing. Can you believe that people are being ridiculed for being proud of our nation and wanting to wave our national flag as a symbol of honor? The woke mob took to the streets to stomp on and burn the American flag while Hong Kongers waved it proudly!!! I wonder if we could negotiate a swap … our violent rioters for their flag wavers??!!
CNN managed to praise the Black Lives Matter protests while criticizing 4th of July celebrations. They heaped praise on the 26 million who have taken to the streets to march while demonizing backyard BBQs and family get togethers. Of course CNN is not solely to blame for that attitude….. look at what Governor Newsom (D-CA) mandated for the weekend!
Not to be outdone by CNN…. The Washington Post decided to lower the bar on “Self Awareness”
Of course the funniest part of this article appearing amongst their pages is their inability to acknowledge that the NAME of their media company is a bit of an issue as well.
The New York Post decided to throw their hat in the ring for the most deceptive headline.
The headline makes this seem like a clear cut racist attack by a white woman. Let me give you the FACTS behind the headline and the photos… A white woman ALLEGEDLY bumps into a black teen. Black teen calls her racist. Her black mom then harasses the white woman for several minutes and threatens to beat her ass. The white woman tries to drive away, the black woman follows and hits her car. The white woman then gets out of her car and pulls the gun. So… yes… the NY Post had it mostly right… they did manage to correctly identify the races of those involved. No wonder their publication is commonly referred to as “bird cage liner”.
The social media world has had a lot of fun trying to re-name the Washington Redskins in order to…. wait for it….NOT OFFEND. Of course the Redskins having their home in the most despicable of cities is rife with possible names: The Washington Weasels, The Washington Pigskins, The Washington THINskins, The Lameskins or my favorite… The Swamp Rats. Whatever your thoughts on this are, just be aware it won’t stop with just this team. Remember when they said… “It’s just the Nathan Bedford Forrest statue”… Look what they are removing now. They will come after the Chiefs, Patriots, Vikings, and even the Cowboys. It won’t stop until the names become obsolete and the league destroyed. I enjoy watching the NFL and my roommates REALLY enjoy it to, but if the league decides to take the Colin Kaepernick manifesto and allow him to steer the future of their sport, I have no desire to support them anymore. I stand by my belief that IF the name of a sports team makes you quiver… you need to seek therapy.
Remember sooooo long ago( 1 week) when the media lost their minds over President Trump’s failure to act when provided intel that said Russians were paying bounties on US Soldiers killed? It was THE topic of discussion and they were even tossing out the idea of impeaching him AGAIN for this lack of leadership. “HE KNEW” was trending on FACEBOOK & Twitter. The story has basically disappeared. Now, it seems a bit odd that a potential impeachable offense would just up and disappear within 7 days of the story breaking.. but that is indeed what happened. One must wonder, what in the heck happened in those 7 days. I’ll tell you what I think happened. The intel community briefed the Gang of 8 congressional leaders and during that briefing they were given proof that President Trump was NOT notified of these bounties in his daily briefing BUT …..Rep. Adam Schiff WAS aware of them and had been aware of them since FEBRUARY when his congressional staff secretly went to Afghanistan. Rep Schiff was notified 5 months ago and was so concerned about this threat to our troops he immediately told… NO ONE. I’m guessing he doesn’t want to pursue this story anymore and is unlikely to utter another syllable about it since it has come to light that he himself has much to answer for.
BLM doesn’t really care about lives lost. 67 shot in Chicago this weekend – 14 killed including 2 kids. These lives don’t matter to them. Until they do…. I have zero interest in their “movement”.
And Kanye…. He’s gonna run or IS he? Why would he do this? I’m sure there is a reason and I bet it has a WHOLE lot more to do with MATH than it does with a desire to be the President in 2020.
