Once again… over and over again… here we go again…… The media lied. Yesterday, we got word that one more FAKE news story bit the dust. It wasn’t a small story. It was a rather large one and the media in this country spread it from sea to sea. They are disgusting abhorrent corrupt biased evil empires in my mind. I’m done with the excuses that people give for this behavior. I’m finished with the…. “BUT they corrected it and that’s the important part”. There is ONLY one thing that will make this disgusting nonsense stop – MONEY.
The WORLD is driven by money. Yeah… you might think we are all saintly and above monetary wants, but your views are as silly as unicorns. The reality is…. MONEY drives it all. The want for it, the need for it, the desire to spend it…. ALL of it is money. And… BUSINESSES want / need it more than any individual person. IF they don’t have it… They cease to exist. If a person doesn’t have it, well, there are churches, charities, government services that are available. Last time I checked, I don’t think “Betty’s Bakery” can use her EBT card to pay rent or go to the local food bank to pick up supplies. Nah… businesses NEED money.
The media in this country is a business. They get their money from ratings / subscribers / readers / advertisers. Three out of four of those YOU control. It’s hard to blame the industry solely when it is very apparent that audiences across the land are all too happy to be lied to and accept a 3 sentence correction as penance for “getting it wrong”.
How wrong have the gotten it?? Well let’s take a look at a few:
- Officer Sicknick was beaten with a fire extinguisher and killed by MAGA rioters
- Trump gassed protesters for a photo op
- NY Times – Trump is ignoring Russian bounties on our troops
- Trump called our military “suckers and losers”
- The lab leak theory is a conspiracy
- There won’t be a vaccine available for COVID in 2020
- It’s NOT safe to open schools
- The COVID virus can live on surfaces for up to 3 days
- The Hunter Biden NY Post story is Russian disinformation
- Trump told politicians in Georgia to “find the fraud”
- CNN – Governor Cuomo is the “Gold Standard” when it comes to handling the COVID crisis
- Locking down for 15 days will slow the spread
- WAPO – Michael Cohen went to Prague
- MSNBC – Don Jr. knew about the Wikileaks document dump in advance
- CNN – Nancy Sinatra was upset at her father’s song being used at Trumps’ Inauguration
- Time Magazine – President Trump removed the bust statue of Martin Luther King Jr. from the Oval Office
- NY Times – Trump told Governors they were “on their own to obtain ventilators”
- Pro Public reported Gina Haspel (Trump’s CIA Directory) oversaw a CIA prison where Abu Zubaydah was waterboarded 83 times in one month.
- NBC News reported that Kim Jong Un of North Korea was dead
- NBC News reported that Putin told TV host Megyn Kelly that he had compromising information on President Trump.
- CNN – Congress was investigating a “Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials”
- ABC – Candidate Trump told Lt. Gen Flynn to contact “The Russians”
- Newsweek – Poland’s First Lady refused to shake President Trump’s hand
- ALL of THEM- 17 Intelligence agencies concluded that Russia orchestrated election hacks to get Trump elected.
- CNN – Trump lied when he claimed Trump Tower had been wiretapped.
- CNN – Edited a video to make it appear that Trump impatiently dumped fish food into the water while feeding fish with the Japanese Prime Minister
- Hydroxycholorquin is NOT an effective treatment for COVID
- Michael Brown’s hands were raised as he stated “Don’t Shoot”
This list is FAR from comprehensive! The media has lied repeatedly about things as trivial as celebrities to as serious as our national security. There are NO excuses for this. NONE. These are not high school newspapers. They are NATIONAL MEDIA SOURCES with billions in assets, hundreds of editors, thousands of reporters. They are a national disgrace!
I have no solutions to this problem other than to tell you…… any news organization that has gotten this much wrong is not really a news organization. My eyes bulge and my head explodes a bit when I see people actually share links of “stories” they’ve read/seen to bolster the legitimacy of their viewpoint. In all honesty…. those links DE-legitimize your argument.
The advice I was given from a respected teacher about “parenting” my wild child roommate applies to the media. Trust BUT Verify. If you don’t pause, take the time to research, verify the accuracy of what you are being told….. then YOU along with the corrupt biased asshattery media ARE the problem.
