I wrote a blog about Facebook censoring my posts a few months ago. In the blog, I said it was very disheartening to see that a social media platform was selectively choosing what could be seen by people. I wasn’t posting questionable pictures or encouraging violence, I was simply using my typing skills to post about the numerous stories the media was telling that were loaded with misinformation and sometimes outright lies. Facebook didn’t like that. They would lock me out of my account, they would disable my newsfeed and they would hide my posts. At the time I said that it was not only frustrating but it was scary because if their algorithms were being used against little ‘ol me with less than 300 followers, imagine what they would do to someone with thousands or millions.
Well….here we are. This week we saw the extreme power that social media holds in controlling what almost 2 billion users are allowed to see and post. Twitter and Facebook claimed that they were banning links to a legitimate news organization’s story because in their opinion it was an unverified salicious tale that could potentially effect our 2020 election. All HELL broke loose and it didn’t take them long to realize that they made a huge mistake. They have been slapped with subpoenas and requests for the FCC to investigate them. Within 12 hours, they tried to back that train into the station but it was too late. It doesn’t matter that every Tom, Dick and Harry can now post links to the NY Post article because they revised their rules. They used power they legally didn’t have. They stepped off the cliff that was providing them legal protections from lawsuits and they are in a free fall.
The irony of the entire saga is that many in this country were having brain explosions when President Trump would call out the media for being “the enemy of the people”. Half the country disagreed with that and said the media is a valuable honest industry that holds politicians accountable. Hysterical now isn’t it? The ones saying HE was trying to stop free speech and media outlets from reporting stories…. in fact stopped free speech and a media outlet from sharing a story.
Whether you believe the NY Post story is 100% accurate or whether you think it’s a complete fabrication cooked up by Rudy Guiliani is really irrelevant. The fact is the NY Post IS a news organization and is one of the largest in this country. They have a right to post stories that they deem to be of national interest. Other journalists can peck away at their paragraphs, find errors in their reporting, or question their facts because from where I sit…. that’s what journalists are SUPPOSED TO DO. It is their job to “get to the bottom of a story” and ultimately report the truth. In this case, that’s not what happened. The media outlets and social media platforms just “erased” the NY Post’s story altogether. I’m not sure if you are aware of this… but Twitter in their ridiculousness… wouldn’t allow you to read the story on their platform, but they would allow you to read a rebuttal to the story that you weren’t allowed to read on their platform.
The actions taken by Twitter and Facebook regarding this article are disappointing but not shocking. I told you it was coming. And millions of other keystroke warriors have been beating drums telling you this is where free speech in this country is headed… it’s NOT free anymore. It’s group-think. It’s one mindset and if you deviate from it or dare to question it…. you will be erased just like the NY Post was. The censors hide behind user guidelines of “privacy” or “social responsibility” or “decency standards” but the honest truth of it is…. those are labels they will slap on anything that doesn’t follow the designated thought path they have chosen.
Twitter claimed that the NY Post article was election interference because it was unverified targeting of a Presidential candidate. Funny that a mere 2 weeks ago, they allowed the NY Times article with unverified hacked information about President Trump’s taxes to trend on their website. There were no “caution… this might not be true” labels or bans on links to the story… they just let the whole thing ride like the wind and circulate like an F5 Tornado.
But this story…. nah… we’re not even gonna let this one blow like a gentle breeze through the leaves. We’re gonna shut that sucker down. And…. what did Jim Acosta (CNN) do since he’s a so called “Free Speech Titan” in our midst? Well, he zipped his lips. That man never uttered a word about it…UNTIL the silencing of the story BECAME the story. Then, he told ya all about that part. He claimed that silencing the NY Post was “the responsible thing to do”. Give me a damn break. That man is as useless as a Blockbuster video card.
As recent as 4 (yes… FOUR damn days ago)… Democrats were squawking about how corrupt our President and his money grabbing kids are. They said that for the security of our country he CANNOT be given another 4 years!!!! For God’s sake… we have foreign dignataries laying their head on pillows in a Trump hotel for $1000 a night. We’ve supposedly got Don Jr. and Jared raking in cash as a direct result of their orange relative sitting his tuft in the Oval Office. They said all of that reeks of corruption and this country cannot have a family selling out to special interests and foreign leaders. This is America and by God we have standards of decency and laws against profiting off an elected office.

In rolls the Hunter Biden story and these people with high standards and morals that are against corruption have vanished like a fart in the wind. We’ve got a national news organization showing us emails from the son of the former Vice President and “wannabe” President clearly indicate he was selling access to his Pappy and nobody thinks this warrants a bit of “looking into”. The emails leave zero doubt that all of Hunter’s shenanigans were done with the knowledge and cooperation of Joe.
I’ve seen people saying… “it’s NOT his laptop”. I hate to burst your bubble on that one but when the attorney for Hunter Biden called and emailed the computer repair guy earlier this week and asked to have the hard drive returned to his client….he eliminated that theory. I’ve also seen…. “who would leave their laptop at a computer repair shop knowing it has all of this illegal activity stored on it”? Oh I don’t know…. maybe the same guy that left his drivers license next to a crack pipe in the seat of a rental car. We’ve got the old standby…. “it’s Russian disinformation”. Pardon me while I laugh…. I have no commentary on that idiotic theory.
And… the most damning evidence of all… Joe Biden has NOT denied a word of this yet. If I was running for President and a bombshell story was dropped on me 14 days before the election…. you can bet your butt I’d be reaching for the nearest microphone to deny the allegations if they were false. His silence pretty much confirms that he and his camp are busy huddled in the hallway trying to figure out what the hell to do about this documented evidence of corruption being given to the very people he is asking to vote for him!!!
If we had an industry in this country with a mission of investigating and reporting news to us…. perhaps they could look into it. I don’t know… I’m just spit-balling here but it seems a good place to start would be to ask Joe Biden about this. Maybe ask him what that email to Hunter meant when it said they wanted him to provide “access to US policy makers”. Ask him why the wife of the mayor of Moscow would wire transfer Hunter $3.5 million. Or why a Ukranian gas company would choose to put his drug addict son who has NO experience in the oil and gas industry nor does he speak Ukranian on their board and pay him over $50,000 a month.
They could also ask him about that time they had a father son weekend over in China and when they returned, Hunter had an investment worth $1.5 billion from Chinese power brokers into his company. Or they could ask for a bit of clarification on why Hunter had a percentage of his income from China set aside for “the Big Guy”. All of that piques my interest but the sad thing is… it doesn’t pique the interest of people who earn a living investigating things like this.
Every day since Donald Trump stepped onto the political stage, the news media has failed to show journalistic integrity. They have had no issues promoting stories that are “scandalous”…. (NBC Access Hollywood tape), or stories that are based on unnamed sources…(The Atlantic “Trump Called Vets Losers”), or the most recent one based on illegal hacked data (NY Times Tax Story).
Now…. they’ve suddenly decided in this case…. it’s too scandalous, Hunter hasn’t personally verified the emails, and the information on the laptop was released in a suspicious manner. There is only ONE conclusion I can come to on all of that. The media thinks we are DUMB. They think we can’t see the polar opposite way they are reporting this story about Biden versus how they have reported thousands of stories on Trump. It’s blatantly obvious and it’s a travesty that the industry that touts the ‘Democracy Dies In Darkness’ mantra has in fact been the one that turned all the lights off. If this was Don Jr’s laptop, every news organization in the world would be talking about it. It would be 24 hour nonstop coverage. We wouldn’t even need an election on November 3 because Trump and his entire administration would be loading up moving boxes as I type. I know that is true, you know it’s true and the media for damn sure knows it’s true. They do not care though and they haven’t in a very long time.
