Peace IS the Prize

As we all try to make sense of the chaos that has enveloped our country since May, it’s hard to not lose sight of the rest of the world. We get lost in our own communities. Over the past few months, we’ve watched cities across the country struggle to survive amongst the violence meant to enlighten the plight of black lives in this country. What might have begun as a peaceful protest quickly became violent destructive riots. We’ve watched as our country has been under attack not by an enemy from afar but an enemy that lives and walks amongst us.

As I type this on September 11, I’m reminded of how our country once stood in solidarity against evil. We once locked arms and declared that an enemy of one is an enemy of all. We vowed to get justice for the thousands of lives lost on that fateful day. It took years to finally find and end the life of the man that ordered the deaths of so many.

Did we all breathe a sigh of relief when President Obama approached the podium to tell us that Osama Bin Laden was killed by our heroic military forces? Personally, I don’t think we did. We might have found solace in knowing that he “went to the great beyond” and would answer for his crimes for eternity, but the reality that we all are so very aware of is…. our world remains dangerous because there are other “Osamas” on the hunt to kill and destroy us. They are on the hunt to kill our allies as well.

Over the past month, we’ve seen that the efforts by President Trump are successfully resulting in peace in the Middle East. This tinder box geographic area has been a hot bed for terroristic activity aimed at the Jewish people in Israel for decades. They are our strongest ally in the region and for over 25 years we’ve watched enemies attack and threaten their mere existance.

It seems that so many are constantly playing politics and refuse to stop for even a second and look around at what has really happened and NOT what the media talking heads ‘told’ you happened. The facts are crystal clear on this. Peace in the region is something that has seemed unattainable for generations but now seems to be a very real possibility.

The country of Israel is made up of human beings. For those that promote anti-semitism that’s a comment that offends. Hating a group of people because of their religious beliefs is incomprehensible to me but it is in fact a reality for many. Hating an entire society of people and labeling them as evil is in itself the epitome of evil. Wishing devastation on millions is a mentality that I don’t understand nor do I ever wish to.

For the Jewish people in Israel they have lived with this hatred for years. Other countries have refused to even acknowledge their existence and prohibited any type of bilateral trade or security agreements. They have even prohibited travel by their own citizens to visit Israel.

What exactly has President Trump done to bring peace to the region? He made promises and he kept them. It’s as simple as that. He promised during his campaign to become the 45th President of this country that he would support and defend the Jewish peoples existence in Israel.

He promised to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem just as the 3 Presidents before him. Unlike them though, he kept his promise. The others vowed action but failed to follow through. When it was announced that our Embassy would move, the liberal media and many prominent politicians swore to us that it would bring unrest and possibly war to the region. He did it any way.

What was the result? Other countries followed suit and moved or are in the process of moving their embassies to Jerusalem as well. He led the way and the others followed. I’ve seen posts on social media that claim our President is “the laughing stock of the world”. “He receives no respect from numerous allies that we once had great relationships with.”

If Angela Merkel (Germany), Emmanuel Macron (France) or Justin Trudeau (Cananda) were the leaders that they claim to be, then they would have taken the steps to negotiate peace in the Middle East and would possibly be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for accomplishing it. But… they didn’t.

The ones claiming that he gets no respect from the rest of the world… you need to look around. More has changed for the better in the 3 1/2 years he has resided in Washington DC than in the previous 26 years. He has brought Arabs and Jews to the same table to find common interests and benefits. He has been the promoter of negotiating peace when there seemed to be no hope of ever achieving it.

So far over the past month we have watched as Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates have normalized relations with Israel enabling travel and trade. Show me a national leader that thinks this is something worth ridiculing and I will show you a failure in leadership.

On this day, the anniversary of so many senseless deaths it is nice to have something positive in the world to celebrate. If you, because of sheer hatred towards the leader of our country, cannot find hope and promise in his actions involved in these milestones then YOU are the problem and NOT him.

Good Day to you! Wash your hands & QUIT TOUCHING YOUR FACE!!!
