Good Friday Morning to everyone!!! It’s been a few days since I’ve posted here. I traveled across the ENTIRELY TOO LONG state of Tennessee yesterday. Don’t get me wrong… I love my State but as I cruised along for 7 hours… I did think that from tip to tail, I wouldn’t be opposed to shrinking that middle section by about 80 miles. The roommates missed me immensley and they decided that piles of dirty clothes and dishes were just the right things to make me feel needed. Although I was away… I did read a bit of news while I was gone, so here’s my recap:
Hydroxychloroquine could save your life if you get COVID. I’ve been told repeatedly over the past 5 months that it is imperative to heed the advice of DOCTORS! We cannot listen to dumb politicians telling us what to do to survive this virus. A group of doctors in Washington, DC said Hydroxycholorquine + Zinc + Azithromycin could prevent you from getting COVID or cure you of it. NOW… the media says…. DON’T LISTEN to THOSE doctors! The MSM refused to air the entire speech and told us they are complete quacks. Never mind the fact that these doctors have treated more COVID patients in the past 5 months than Anthony Fauci has in his lifetime. So… clearly…. we ARE supposed to listen to doctors… just NOT THOSE doctors!
Hybrid… That’s the word of the moment with the education system around the country. I prefer to use the word stupid.. but whatever. The lobbyists, politicians and educators across the country have decided that children need to be taught from a distance…preferably the distance between your home to their school. They think the 6 ft thing is just “not do-able” so they are going with the 6 mile thing. The schools have sent out surveys to the parents…. do you want your child to sit in front of a laptop 5 days a week or just 2? If you want to risk having them infected, do you prefer Monday/ Thursday or Tuesday/ Friday?
Before you twist in a knot… I read it. I saw it… kids can’t effectively social distance, teachers shouldn’t be put at risk, it’s for the safety of all. Well… here’s my take on it… It’s NOT for the safety of ALL! Let me tell you WHO it’s not safe for.
- It’s NOT safe for the kids battling depression who are becoming even more depressed and potentially suicidal from the stress of living in an isolated environment away from their peers and their teachers.
- It’s NOT safe for the kids who live in abusive homes and those 8 hours in school provide a safehaven away from that and around adults that could spot the abuse and advocate on their behalf.
- It’s NOT safe for the kids who live in poverty and school lunches were their only meal of the day. Look at this and tell me again that this methodology of keeping kids OUT of school is really in their best interest.
I’ve seen NUMEROUS posts… If we save JUST ONE child’s life with distance learning it is worth it. My argument… if ONE child DIES as a result of distance learning… which child’s life is more important to save? There is not a one size fits all solution but the school systems are pretending to be flexible. I want to know where is the box on the survey to mark: I WANT MY CHILD in school 5 days a week? Selfish adults pretending to be focused on educating children are not fooling anyone! Let me give you some facts to ponder on this topic:
The odds of a child under age 15 dying from COVID are 1 in 1.7 million. For children with no underlying medical conditions, the odds are 1 in 8.5 million. The odds of being hit by lightning 1 in 700,000
Lastly… Congressman John Lewis’ family should be ashamed of themselves. Not only did they attend his funeral and invite hundreds to gather and mourn with them but it was a slap in the face to thousands of families across this country. Yes… I SAID IT! So very politically incorrect of me to point out the horrible selfish souls that thought it was a good idea to let the rest of the world watch them gather to shed tears over his passing. Here’s why… NO WHERE IN THIS COUNTRY is a family allowed to invite hundreds to their loved one’s funeral right now. NO WHERE! Many families have had to limit attendance to a few or not have a funeral at all. I realize that he’s a prominent civil rights hero… but he’s also… just a man… that died… like many others… and his family isn’t more special than mine or yours. Rules for THEE but NOT for ME is WRONG! VERY WRONG!
My PSA… if you’re media source isn’t telling you about a story last night implicating Bill Clinton, Alan Dershowitz and Prince Andrew in a sex trafficking scandal, you need to find another news source! This IS a big story and they are hiding it from you.
