Wisdom… you know the knowledge we all gain from reading, watching, and doing day to day activities. Wisdom is a good thing and these days… it’s a rarity in some instances. I for one gained a bit of wisdom just yesterday whilst sitting on my patio. My roommate returned home from playing golf and told me a story about an “incident” on the golf course. Now, I must back up a bit and tell you that I don’t play golf. I know NOTHING about the sport other than it takes 4 hours of walking around a field, hitting a tiny ball with a stick and trying to get it in a hole. I know there are 18 of those holes out there and I know that it’s a frustrating sport to play. I know you start on 1 and end on 18 and sometimes a beer when you get to 9 makes the day a bit more enjoyable. I also know that I can get LOST wandering around out there looking for my youngest golfer because there can be 6 other people of similar size wearing the exact same outfit on a day when CBHS is competing against their rival MUS. The guys in the golf shop know me well enough that if I miss the starting shot… I have NO CHANCE IN HELL of finding my youngest golfer and they will receive numerous phone calls from me saying… “If there’s a water fountain on the right and a huge tree behind it… which way should I walk to find him?ā They have the WISDOM to know they are better off loading me in a golf cart and DRIVING me out to my little golfer than trying to give me directions on the phone as to which trees I should be walking towards. So… back to my story of the patio. It seems that a golfer hit a shot and it SHANKED…that’s a complicated term for “went dead right” and almost took the head off a golfer standing on that side. He said casually… “you should NEVER stand on the right side when someone is hitting a ball.” WAIT… WHAT?? You are just now telling me this valuable tid bit of information after I’ve been out there watching numerous rounds of this stupid sport? To which I replied… “that’s kinda important info for me to know, don’t ya think?” Well, I now have more WISDOM on the etiquette of golf and how to avoid getting plunked in the head by a ball.
We all need WISDOM to navigate this crazy world we find ourselves in these days. Covid.. the silent killer of thousands. 1st we were told by the CDC… “don’t wear a mask.. it won’t help.” Now we’re told… “Put on a damn mask”. Then we’re told… “Stay 6 feet away from people” which changed to… “if your cause is righteous… head out in the streets shoulder to shoulder slinging your spittle every direction because your voice needs to be heard.” We were told, “Our history is so very important to learn and experience” Now, it’s “read it in a book because monuments and statues need to come down ASAP… they offend people” It’s a world of randomness if you ask me. No one seems to know what the hell is the right thing to do. A complete lack of WISDOM has become apparent to all of us when it comes to the leaders handing out these rules. The Mayor of Seattle claimed that the little “GET TOGETHER” occuring in downtown Seattle is simply “a peaceful protest… don’t worry.” Now, she’s in the process of dismantling that fiasco because 4 people have been shot (2 kids killed) and the protesters got a BIT too close to her house. Of course that whole social experiment out there was going to end the way it did. Anyone with an active brain cell could see that it was just a matter of time. That’s where we are today with this moronic “Defund the Police” movement. NYPD just cut a BILLION dollars from their budget. Yeah, that’s a great idea. People will certainly be safer with less cops on the street. Give me a break. The minority communities will pay a HIGH price for this one because the wealthy people will hire private security (see… the Minneapolis City Council recent activity) and the un-wealthy people will call 911 and have social workers sent to the scene to diffuse the situation with a nut job.
There has been a recent story in the news from the Beacon of Truth-NY Times about whether Trump and his administration knew about a “bounty” placed on the heads of our military in Afghanistan. Use your wisdom to know that the whole story is a bit suspect. I’m not saying a “bounty” wasn’t placed… I AM saying that the details of such a bounty being provided by the NY Times are NOT reliable. I’ve used this blog repeatedly to point out the numerous lies and misinformation that the media spews at us and it is simply to encourage a bit of a PAUSE when you hear a story of this magnitude. I encouraged you to tap the breaks on the Bubba Wallace Noose Story and as recent tidbits have been revealed… I’m betting NASCAR wishes they had tapped the breaks on this one too. Read what you want, Watch what you enjoy….. but use the WISDOM you have to know that the people telling you these stories don’t have a very good track record of spreading truth or facts.
Lastly… IF… the story about a bounty on the heads of military is of interest to you… I encourage you to Google NBC News for a story that they ran 9-5-2010 regarding a $1000 bounty paid for each US soldier killed by the Taliban. ( Get back to me and let me know how the President responded to that. )
Alyssa Milano should have a bad day today.
The State of Virginia is in the process of removing offensive statues while the Governor of Virginia who wore Blackface OR a Klan Robe (he’s never been specific about which racist he was portraying in the picture) still sits in the Governors mansion.
AND… it’s been 38 days since George Floyd was killed…. NO body cam video… NO dash cam video YET. Very Very Very ODD!
Good day!
