The “P” Word….

In this house… the “P” word refers to our oldest “Parker”. We love him but jeez what a bubble brain he is. I’ve been told by another roommate that it’s his age, he’s got alot of stuff going on in his brain, he’s just not focused on things that YOU think he should be focused on… Um Whatever. As I said, I love him, he makes life interesting around here and it would indeed be dull if I didn’t have to play the ol’… “Ok… WHERE was the LAST PLACE you saw your….. ” I’ve become a regular Sherlock Holmes around here retracing steps, looking for clues.. “.well, your SHOES are here… so that means .. YOU were IN HERE” He’ll be going back to school 5 hours away in a month or so and I won’t have anyone to practice my detective skills on, so I know things that are irritating to me now will be MISSED greatly soon. That’s kind of the way everything is going these days when you think about it…

Back in the day… you know a LONG time ago when we were all stuck in our houses because of the Covid we were counting the hours between waking up and getting to go back to bed. Or maybe that was just ME, but any who… if I wasn’t doing a puzzle or taking the dog on 10 walks around the block (which she STILL hasn’t forgiven me for) … the highlight of the day was the nightly shower. Now, I’m a morning person.. always have been. I get more done between the hours of 5 am – 10 am than I do in the 19 hours that follow. If it needs to get done today… whatever IT is… I’m gonna get after it before 10 am. Now, if by some chance whatever IT is can’t be done until say… 11 when the store opens… well I can’t make any promises on that because 11 am to me is my “OFF WORK” hours. My roommates absolutely KNOW this to be a fact. Don’t schedule mom for stuff after 11 am if possible and if it is an evening or Nightime event… Forget it. She’s clocked out. But.. back to the quarantine.. it seems like it was FOREVER ago that I was suffering from “puzzle neck” and the dog was giving me the stink eye if I picked up her leash. The reality.. it was only 2 months ago. You see… time really does keep on ticking by whether you are locked inside your house or whether you’re allowed to cruise about .. wearing a mask and washing your hands constantly.

I say all of this because it’s important to make the most of every moment you get. The good ones and the bad ones. You never know when those moments will end, when those opportunities will up and disappear and you will be standing there thinking…. ” I wish I had… ” So, make the most of those moments. I shall do that today, as I search for the latest missing object, clean up the piles of dirty dishes, take the dog for a walk or find that LAST missing puzzle piece. For today… make the “P” word “peaceful” “productive” or “possible”… all 3 are great uses of time.

Good Day!
