The Story they tell you

Good morning to everyone that is shocked by this photo. There is no way you could look at this picture and not gasp. The 1st thought is…. NO WAY would I ever do that! 2nd…. WHAT was she thinking doing something so terrifying and dangerous?? She’s an IDIOT.

THIS in a nutshell is what the media does every single day. They find a story, then tell it in a way that leads people to either be appalled or vindicated depending on which side of the political spectrum you sit on. They pat themselves on the back for a job well done and get busy on the next story. They aren’t in the business of giving you the WHOLE picture. They ARE in the business of giving you only a fraction of the picture. Right now…. there is a big story about the police shooting Rayshard Brooks in the back at a Wendy’s in Atlanta. THAT’S what is important in their opinion for you to know.

The part that’s not important…. He drove drunk, resisted arrest, assaulted 2 cops, and stole a taser. He is a criminal with a history of violence against women and children. He was released from jail early because of Covid…. not because he had finished serving his sentence. He went from 0-100 in a split second when he realized that his little nap in the drive thru while intoxicated was his express ticket back to jail. Maybe I’m crazy…. but I kinda think this part is a bit important too. I’m not insinuating that his prior criminal behavior justifies his death because it doesn’t. Here’s what I think does justify his death: He stole a police officer’s taser, he attempted to flee with this taser. He could have used that taser to incapacitate anyone. He could have carjacked someone, killed someone with the car he stole because he was drunk. He could have used that taser on the police officers and taken their gun. He could have shot them. He could have shot a bystander. The officers involved had about 5 seconds to consider all of that before they made the decision to fire their gun. The police also yelled repeatedly for him to STOP! I’ve looked into a few of these police officer shootings and do you know what they have in common? Failure to comply with an officers orders. Imagine what the stories would have been if they had just complied. The media doesn’t tell you this angle of the story though because it doesn’t seem important enough.

And…. oh yeah….. THIS picture is taken of the EXACT SAME ROCK. The Angle is IMPORTANT. When you are shown the ENTIRE picture.. it changes your opinion a bit doesn’t it.

*****. FUN FACT- 1 year ago today I had a battle with a hot tub in St. John, USVI. The hot tub won and left me with a broken foot. It still barks at me every time I run. My advice… set down your cocktail BEFORE you take that step into a pool of hot water 😃
