My question to many news followers is a simple one. Why do you believe the media? Why do you accept what they say is true? In the same respect, you could turn that question on me and ask, “Why DON’T YOU believe them?” They’ve given me too many reasons NOT to. I’ve repeatedly pointed out their falsehoods with my Spot The Problem game. I could post that game daily and it would take me less than 10 minutes each day to find one to post. The media should adhere to standards of accuracy and honesty and they don’t.
It is understandable that occassionally a news source will make a mistake. In those instances, they should spend the same amount of time & effort on the correction that they did on the original story. But they don’t. When Chuck Todd (Meet the Press) spent his broadcast debating the reasoning behind Attorney General Barr’s decision to drop charges against Michael Flynn he deceptively edited a video that made it appear AG Barr’s reasoning was political and cavalier. His statement was anything but that. He stated that the rule of law is being upheld by this decision and the law was violated by the wrongful charges brought against General Flynn. What did NBC do when they were called out for the debacle of misinformation? They issued a tweet. He didn’t get the panel of commentators back together to discuss the actual words of AG Barr, he didn’t analyze the circumstances that Barr referred to as a wrongful charge. NBC issued a tweet claiming they inadvertently showed a misleading clip. NO THEY DIDN’T. They willfully showed a misleading clip. NBC News is not a mom & pop news organization. It is a billion dollar corporation with thousands of employees and hundreds of editors. They didn’t do an Ooops. They committed an intentional act of misleading their viewers.
Then, we can head on down to CBS…. Walter Cronkite’s old stomping grounds. CBS has been caught showing film footage from hospitals in Italy during the pandemic claiming in their broadcast the footage was from NYC. Again… a lie. Just today, they showed the following pictures of a child they claimed was suffering from an illness related to Covid. But the picture is clearly from a 2016 photo of a Ukranian child that did not have COVID.
Then, we can move on to the NY Times… The Beacon of Truth. Certainly their standards for accuracy should be extraordinarily high, but they aren’t. They took the time on Memorial Day weekend to run a front page list of ALL of the people that have died from Covid in the US. But they even got that wrong. Are you going to give them a pass.. say it’s just an error? It’s only 1 name out of 100,000… really? How do you know that? Every lost life matters and it really matters to their families so why doesn’t it matter to The NY Times? Why is it up to other news organizations or journalists to have to fact check the story run on the FRONT PAGE of the NY Times? Here’s their front page and a correction. Notice the wording… they’ve already laid the groundwork for more incorrect names to be removed. (*at least one name)
We were told for hours and hours during every newscast for years that Donald Trump colluded with Russians to win the 2016 election. I keep turning on my TV expecting a correction to the story. Are you aware that documents released in the past 30 days prove that there is no direct evidence that Russia hacked the DNC server and gave the emails to Wikileaks to share with the world? As a matter of fact, there is NO evidence that the DNC was hacked by an outside source at all
. The world saw John Podesta’s (Hillary’s campaign manager) emails because of a phishing scheme and it had nothing to do with Russia. (Hint – don’t use Password as your Password) Russia ran a misinfomation campaign through social media during 2016 but there was no coordination with the Trump Campaign.
Do you know that James Clapper (former Director of National Intelligence), Samantha Power (former UN Ambassador), Susan Rice (former US National Security Advisor), & John Brennan (former CIA Director) all stated UNDER OATH that they NEVER saw any evidence of Collusion or Coordination with the Trump Campaign & Russia. NONE! ZERO! ZILCH! You wouldn’t know that if you listened to what they said during numerous media interviews. In those interviews they claimed they had seen irrufutable evidence of collusion.
So, lets cut to the chase here. They told the media LIES but then when they were under oath, they didn’t repeat those lies. They told the truth. You can read the transcripts from their depositions and see for yourself what they said if you doubt my words. The media has not made a big deal of these new revelations. As a matter of fact, they have spent lots of time telling you what a threat the acting Director of National Intelligence ( Richard Grenell) is to our national security by releasing these transcripts but they haven’t spent much time telling you what was in them. They haven’t issued updated stories to let the world know that the entire story about Trump colluding with Russia was untrue.
My contention is that it’s a horrible travesty when the media distributes false information but it is a WORSE travesity when they use their platform to WITHHOLD information. We should all demand that the media cover stories accurately and cover ALL stories not just the ones they agree with. I would love to live in a world where the stock market only closes when it’s UP or when my roommates report cards are only issued on the days when they have A’s. What a world it would be… but that’s NOT the real world. That is what the media is doing. They are selectively deciding what to report to you.
Let’s see how many of these stories you saw and how many of the related stories you are aware of:
1. Donald Trump said: “The United States cannot have all Mail in Ballots. It will be the greatest Rigged Election in History. ” The President claiming that absentee ballots and mail in voting is a recipe for massive voter fraud.
The “US Post Office found 3 tubs of absentee ballots for Wisconsin in Chicago the day after the election. The tubs contained 1300 completed ballots” (May 2020) “2 days after polls closed in Florida, the Secretary of State reported that 46,000 ballots had been found.” (Nov. 2018)
2. New York State has had almost 6000 deaths from Covid in Nursing Homes since March? **Update… 4-2-21… it was really 15,000 deaths!
On March 25, Governor Cuomo issued a mandate that nursing homes were required to readmit any patient from a hospital regardless of their Covid status? On May 10, he reversed this directive. As of May 22, they have determined that over 4500 patients with Covid were sent into nursing homes. Twice as many people died in NY nursing homes than in the entire state of Florida.
3. The Trump family has financially benefited from the Trump presidency?
While Joe Biden was VP, his son Hunter was appointed to the board of a Ukranian Energy company (Burisma Holdings), paid $50,000 per month and had no experience in the energy industry? (10-18-2019)
** imagine if Donald Trump Jr. had been named to a foreign business board.
4. During President Obama’s tenure, Diane Feinstein (D-CA) chaired the Senate Intelligence Committee.
During that time she had a Chinese Spy on her staff who worked for her for about 20 years. He was listed as an “office director” on payroll records and served as her driver when she was in San Francisco, all while reporting to China’s Ministry of State Security through China’s San Francisco Consulate. She acknowledged that the FBI informed her of this and that the driver could have had access to her cell phone, IPad and other devices. (8-9-2018)
5. China has been proactive in trying to control the Covid Virus from spreading throught the world.
In January, as the virus ravaged the citizens of Wuhan China, the government issued a mandate prohibiting those citizens from traveling to other provinces in their country. At the same time, China continued to allow International flights to arrive /depart from Wuhan. (4-8-2020)
6. President Donald Trump is taking Hydroxychloroquin as a Prophylactic for Covid.
Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit, MI) began use of Hydroxychloroquin as a prophylactic for 3000 of it’s health care workers in April. The Indian Council of Medical Research has also recommended the drug as prophylaxis for high risk population. High Risk population is determined by age as well as underlying medical conditions.
7. On April 11, 2019, Chuck Schumer (D-CA) took to the Senate floor to call out Attorney General William Barr’s “continued failure to be impartial. Clearly the title he holds is far less important than the boss he serves.”
President Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder gave a radio interview in which he professed his allegiance not to the rule of law, but instead to his boss. “I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, there’s still work to be done. I’m still the President’s wing-man , so I’m there with my boy. “ (April 2013)
Maybe you saw all of these, maybe you didn’t see any. They are all newsworthy and accurate, but the time allotted to the 1st stories greatly surpasses the time allotted to the 2nd stories. You cannot dismiss these stories by claiming you’ve never seen / heard them therefore they are not true. I assure you they are and if you look, you will find them. I think you should be appalled at any news organization that you trust for failing to TELL you the 2nd stories. The mainstream media is not your friend when it comes to getting accurate and honest information. They hate being called “Fake News” but their daily behavior certainly warrants the name.
